Hacienda Abascal has both vineyards and wine cellar under the command of the
enologist Carmel Angulo. His vineyards, all of
them of the variety Tempranillo, are found 650 meters of
height and have applied im them the last
technologies, like a conduction of irrigation by leak, that
is taken directly from the Duero river,
or an anti-frost irrigation system by sprinkling. All
this gives some excellent grapes that are
destined exclusively to the elaboration and breeding of the
wines from Abascal. Guests will remain amazed by the original wine cellar,
conceived according to the architectural style called land-art,
whose priority is the visual integration of the building with
the natural middle.
Haciendas de España called an architectural contest for the construction of the new wine
cellar. Set against the large companies,
that predominate the spectacularness and they wager often by
very aggressive constructions with the natural middle, opted for
inviting young Spanish architects. The premise: that the wine
cellar remained completely integrated in the landscape. The
designs of L&M, very certain, were adapted perfectly to the
philosophy of the project.
The result: a wine cellar conceived according to the land-art
style, of simple and temperate lines, what favors the
mimetización of the building with the landscape.
