Restaurant: Seasons at Diemersfontein, is a bright fresh
contemporary restaurant set in the heart of the Wellington
winelands.
Seasons offers panoramic views over the farm dam and horse
paddocks across to surrounding mountain ranges and Paarl Rock.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Seasons' menu offers a
variety of dishes using fresh, local and seasonal produce. Our
Chef has put together a breakfast/brunch menu that is both
original and delicious and another great reason for visiting
Wellington in the winelands.
Our Head Chef, Johan van Schalkwyk
whose early work experience at a chateau in Normandy, France
awoke him to the delights of creating dishes with whatever
ingredients were available in the chateau gardens and
surrounding farms, is excited by the prospect of tapping into
whatever the fertile Wellington valley and the Manor House
gardens at Diemersfontein can offer up for his culinary pots.
Johan, who spent the last two and half years as Head Chef at
River Café, Constantia Uitsig, takes up the challenge of
building Seasons into a popular winelands restaurant, with a 'holistic'
approach that instils a level of service that matches up to
international standards, and at the same time offers a great
eating experience…great food, fine wine, spectacular
surroundings and a warm and friendly welcome.
Johan's own personal best is a long, lazy lunch, preferably al
fresco, and the vital ingredients - good company, great wine (Bordeaux
blend) and delicious, home cooked fare.
Gourmet picnics and food and wine pairing
can also be arranged through Seasons Restaurant.
