Activities
At our resort you will be able to have a completely different
wine experience. Our team is composed of several people with
different backgrounds and insights on wine. Vineyard workers,
Winemakers, Agronomists, Geologists, Oenologists and the family
are all working together moved by the same love affair with wine
and countryside. You will be able to interact with each and all
of them according to your wish. They will all be able to give
you a different insight, according to their experience, on their
beloved subject: wine!
Wine Tutors: Our Wine
Tutors are the people in charge of maximizing your wine
experience at the resort. They are the ones who will guide you
whether you are a wine novice or you want to further improve
your knowledge. Each of them has an area of expertise which is
derived from their involvement. Wine Tutors are divided into
following categories.
Vineyard workers - These Wine Tutors will be in charge of
teaching you the wine courses in the vineyards.
Winemakers - These Wine Tutors will be in charge of teaching you
the wine courses in The Winery.
Agronomists - These Wine Tutors will be in charge of teaching
you the wine courses in The Vineyards.
Oenologists - These Wine Tutors will be in charge of teaching
you the wine courses on Wine Tasting and Wine making in the
Winery.
The Family Proprietors - These Wine Tutors will be in charge of
your learning experience.
Wine Courses: Our wine courses are theoretical and
practical. Each course has a brief introductory seminar which is
then followed by on the ground experience either in the vineyard,
winery or by tasting the wines.
Seminars
You will look at wine styles, profiles of the main grape
varieties, some of the factors that make one wine taste
differently from another, plus some guidelines for food and wine
matching. Your tutor will provide a guide to wine speak and what
it all means, plus the ideal tasting technique. You will also
learn how to navigate wine lists and plan entertaining with
aplomb.

• Montereggio di Massa Marittima: A recently established
DOC the Monteregio di Massa Marittima has centuries of
traditions in growing grapes. Centred around the medieval town
of Massa Marittima, the area is only few miles away from the
enchanting coasts of Maremma creating a unique terroir for
growing grapes. Sangiovese, the main grape variety, here assume
more round and sweet notes than anywhere else contributing to
the production of perfectly balanced wines with a strong
character.
Wine Tasting: This eclectic wine experience is a full day
wine lovers dream . You will be having different Wine Tutors at
your total disposal for the whole day and you will be taught
which are the world’s finest grape varieties and the different
styles produced in the major regions of the world. Tuscany and
its wines will be then covered in depth during seminars in the
field.
We will start the day off with a Prosecco Tasting Breakfast in
the winery where you will learn how prosecco is made. We will
examine the range of styles from dry to sweet to decide which
one is your favourite.
We will then get back to our tasting lounges to cover basic
tasting tecniques during a seminar, which will be putting words
to wine and try to find out what you like and why.
Lunch in the vineyards will focus on Tuscany as a wine region.
Over a simple and honest Tuscan lunch you will get to enjoy wine
from Tuscany with bottles from: Monteregio, Chianti, and Maremma.
In the afternoon, after a well deserved break, we will resume
our day by looking at the Italian wine industry with its
extensive range of wine varieties and its sheer number of
viticultural regions and wine styles. Profiles of the main grape
varieties, some of the factors that make one wine taste
different from another, plus some simple guidelines for food and
wine matching, will also be in focus.
Dinner will start with a Champagne aperitivo to be followed by a
what many consider to be the yardstick for Italian wines. A
selection of Brunello di Montalcino, Barolo and Amarone will be
served during a specially matched Italian menu designed to
perfectly complement the wines on show.
Wine Bar: The Wine Bar is the result of the desire and
commitment of the owners, Sarah and Manfredo, to create an
environment where people could share a unique experience with
friends enanched by fine wines in a beautiful, warm and
comfortable ambience.
Our wine list is a representation of the main varietals from the
most important wine-producing regions not only of Italy.
You have a wide choice of wine by the glass, including our owns.
You can have a glass of wine and a "little something," or you
can dine at a table or relax and lounge in one of several areas
inside or outside on a couch or comfy chair very much like your
own living room.
Monteregio You wil taste our wine and a selection of three local
producers.
Maremma A comparative tasting of four of the best Maremma IGT
wines from the region.
Bolgheri Four famous bolgheri producers will be competing head
to head to get your final verdict.
Brunello 2001 a cult vintage for Brunello will be explored
tasting four of the main producers.
Tuscany Chianti, Brunello, Bolgheri and Montepulciano will be
the stars of this wine tasting selection.
Super Tuscan Four Super Tuscans will be offered for tasting to
enjoy the complexity of these wines.
Italian Whites Whites from North-East, Central Italy, Southern
Italy and Sicily will be compared.
Italian Reds The four less discussed stars Brunello, Barolo,
Amarone and a Super Tuscan will be the focus.
Bordeaulaise Two wines from Bourdeaux and two Super Tuscans will
be offered to appreciate the difference in styles.
